Privacy Policy

ShapeShelf is a desktop panel that runs inside Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop. It is designed to be local-first and privacy-respecting: there is no account, no login, and no analytics or tracking.
What stays on your device
- Your settings, favorites, recently-used icons, collections, and custom packs are stored only in the panel’s local storage on your machine.
- The “Find Similar” image classifier runs entirely on-device — the bundled model never uploads your images anywhere.
- Inserted artwork and saved packs never leave your computer unless you explicitly export and share a pack file.
Network requests we make
ShapeShelf contacts a small number of services only to provide its core features:
- Icon search & delivery — icon and emoji SVGs are fetched on demand from the Iconify API. Your search terms are sent to Iconify to return matching icons.
- Update check — the panel periodically fetches a small version file from https://shapes.nxyz.art to tell you when a new version is available. No personal data is sent.
We do not operate our own analytics, advertising, or data-collection servers. We do not sell or share any data, because we don’t collect any.
Third parties
Requests to Iconify and to our update host are subject to those services’ own policies and standard server logs (e.g. IP address and request metadata, as with any web request). The bundled on-device vision model (Google MobileNet) runs locally and makes no network requests.
Your control
You can clear the local icon cache and all locally-stored data at any time from the panel’s Settings, or by removing the extension. Working offline simply disables online icon search; everything cached locally continues to work.
